OK I have a 65 AC car and for now want to change it over to non-AC.. is there a kit to make this happen? From looking at it, I just cant simply change it over to non-ac. I will, in the long run put the AC back on, but for now, I just want it out of the way and make the engine bay alittle cleaner looking.
I was told, that someone makes a kit to change it over.. is this true?
Help me out guys.
Bud

What other than the heater unit, inside and out would you have to change, that is other than the compressor and all the other BS..

If you really want to clean up the firewall and engine compartment there is a fiberglass delete plate that is made to eliminate A/C. They are rather pricey but look good. It will cover the entire area that was formerly the dog-house. I can't remember the maker but it won't be hard to find if you Google it.

I want to keep the heater(frostly windows late at night). Someone told me that some person/company made an adapter to just unbolt the outside(engine bay) and replace with a new housing. but I cant find any such animal. I just dont like all the hoses, lines, etc hanging in the engine bay. Plus would like a little more room for the valve covers.

Yes there is. I bought the kit late this summer. Fits great. Looks great. Seems well made. My car is still in the re-assembly phase, so I can't provide any feedback on functionality.
The kit allows you to do exactly what you're wanting to do. Remove all of the A/C related equipment from in front of the firewall, without having to remove or convert the under dash equipment or dash controls, or having to weld up any holes in the firewall as you'd have to if you just install a heater-only case.
At the moment I can't find the website either... I remember it was hard to find before. Seems like there was an article in PHR magazine that provided the website, but now I can't find that article online either. I'll go look through my receipts to get the name and web address and I'll post it for you, unless someone else beats me to it.

The motor was a bone stock never run 403 with the injection on it for show at the Oldsmobile Museum. I sold the motor a while ago, and still have the injection. Maybe someday I will use the injection, or sell it, which ever comes first. ;D

Cool! I just don't think I've ever seen or even heard of an injector manifold like that that'll fit a post-1964 era motor. I'm sure from an efficiency and drivability standpoint, it can't compete with a modern EFI system... but the old-school look is eye popping.

Olds made many big block injections. Made few small block injections. This one was made by MOON, and is complete. The way it works is old style, using a belt driven fuel pump. If I ever use it, I will change it over to electronic injectors.
Oh well someday maybe.. lol
