I have a question about where the drag link hooks up,is there suppose to be play in that area? I mean in the steering center itself. Thanks

The drag link attaches at one end to the pitman arm (arm on the steering box) and the other end attaches to the idler arm (which attaches to the inside of the passenger side frame rail). Both inner tie rods attach to the drag link.
What kind of play are you talking about? The drag link joints can swivel, allowing it to rotate fore and aft, but there should be no side-to-side play (unless you're talking about one > 15 years old ;D)
