This is a picture(screen dump no doubt) of the tail panel model, only 75 percent complete on the model but at least he is working at it.

I've done a fair amount of leg work on reproducing these parts, it's expensive... more expensive than most would think. Castings would in fact be cheaper, assuming you had the molds. BRO, I would be interrested in seeing the back side of that trim piece you posted the pic of... Can we see it?

If someone decides to repop a part are any there any patent or licensing issues with that or does that normally apply to trademarks and logos? Part numbers#?

I'd say "Don't Overthink It" We have to see just where this can go and the quantities. On the 442, GM still holds the license for the logo.

One of the good choices for parts would be the patch panels for lower quarter, fender lip for the quarter panel. and lower front fender patches. Even patch panels to convert cheby/pontiac outer wheel wells to our cars. Could replacement air cleaner housings be far behind? Patch panel for radiator support under the battery mount. Lots of little time consuming parts to make one at a time by hand.

Really nice piece, but why this particular molding? I don't remember it being a hard to find item where I live. At least when i was building my 65 that is. (1995-2006)

You've gotta start somewhere.......... so you start out with somthing small to find out just what you are getting into. If you are going to trial somthing, wouldn't you rather waste 12 inches of billet aluminum than a 40 inch piece? I feel this piece incorporates all the lines and contours that you will find in all of the others.
Note: Casting was mentioned in an earlier post and was found to be completely out of the question due to engineering and the cost and type of the mold necessary to do the trim. maybe $15,000 per piece. If anyone has an inexpensive idea, please share it.

That's exactly why I asked and exactly what I thought you'd say BROmyster. I like it regardless. It's very shinny.
