65 is year NJ is the specific code for 442 and 075 is the 75th day of the year. looks exactly like the 442 tag i had .Aluminum tag was only suppose to be on the early production 442 jetaways

That's about right, but the model year change wasn't Sept 1st, it was usually mid-month. The date is correct though and would put the trans being built somewhere around early to mid November which lines up well [dovetails] with an early December build of the car. One of my Cutlass' has a tag similar to that with a different code, obviously, I'm pretty sure mine has the painted writing still on it, I will snap a picture and post it when I get home. The trans has been sitting on a shelf since I took it out many moons ago when it went bad and the Cutlass was our daily driver and I stuck a boneyard unit in to keep it on the road.
