A buddy of mine has a 10 bolt posi unit off a 3.90. Question, will it work with 3.23's if I change the ring gear?

Have you checked with Greg Rollins at SuperCars Unlimited? He's pretty good with this stuff. Ph# 503-516-2099

3:23 is a series 3 rearend and the 3:90 is a series 4. not gonna happen........if you're trying to put it in the series 3 rearend.

(Series 4 will accept 3:90 to 4:88's) larger, heavier carrier and bearings (Series 3 ranged from 308 to 355's) (Series 2 went up to 2:78's)

That's questionable......... just like the 3:90's fit the series 4. I'm not 100% sure just where the cut of point is on the series 2.

Does anyone know if a posi rear from a 65 cutlass will bolt into a 65 Custom Vista with a 120" wheelbase. I don't think the longer wheelbase matters but I just want to check if there is anything different becuase its a wagon.
Thanks, Bob

Like stated above................ you have to determine the series and then find a posi that matches it or a rear that matches your posi.
Why worry about posi on a wagon?

BRO,
I have 2 65 posi rears, a 308 and a 355, the 308 is still in the parts car and I might sell it. Just got the Vista this past week, probably would not put a posi in the wagon, but just thinking about possibilities and plans.
Thanks, Bob

I've got a peg leg 308 that I'd like to convert. Just need the posi unit.
