Hello ..... just joined the site and need to introduced myself. I live in the south hills of Pittsburgh,Pa 15317. Just bought a 65 cutlass convertible and I'm loving it. I had a new 442 in 65, first new car, I was 18 and looking for something to take on the GTO. It had the 4 speed and 3:90 posi, black on black holiday coupe. Anyway back to the new car, I need to change the bulb in the heater control panel and I was wondering how do you get the bulb out. I pulled on it and tried to move it back and forth so before I break something I figured I'd better ask the experts....... Gary

That bulb socket has a spring like claw that is very hard to pull out. It does come out though, easy way is when the whole dash is out, you can use a screwdriver to pry it out. Dont think youll want to remove the dash however.

Reached in carefully with a pair of pliers as was able to pull it out. Be careful though and goodluck.

I see you made it here Gary. We're all glad to have you. This is the place to get most of your questions answered, and don't be bashful about sharing any info you learn or come across. If you meet any other 65 owners, point them in this direction. The more members, the better the info and, not to mention, it makes Jasen look good too.

Thanks to everyone for the welcome. I'm going to try and get the bulb out this weekend. Do I need to look for any "SPECIAL" type of replacement bulbs for the dash? I went over to wally-world and pick some up that look like the same size. Any warning here? Thanks again for the help. Gary
