What other message boards does everyone belong to? I am on ROP, Supercars.net, Boss302.com, and V8Buick. I've checked out Classicoldsmobile but have not joined. Is it a good site? Any others worth joining for buying/selling parts? I plan on selling a bunch of parts and want to get as much exposure as possible.

I've been a member at classic olds since 05 or so. Good site that has grown substantially. They have 64 & 65 guys on there but really cater to 67 - 72's. Would think that's a real good site for 65 stuff as noone really advertises 65 parts on it.

This and Classic Olds. I used to post on ROP but not anymore. Same here. Finding decent info amongst the bs isn't worth it anymore on ROP. I go every once in a while to see if I have a PM since the notification hasn't worked for me since the last crash. Made a decision about a month ago that I wouldn't bother posting there anymore, and I don't miss it. Between vendor bashing and conspiracy crap, not worth going to for me. None of the other sites I go to are like that.

Besides this forum I also belong to the Olds Email group on Google groups. It is the large Olds email list that is based out of Canada. It's a very good knowledgeable group and is generally very helpful. groups.google.com/group/olds?hl=enThe Classic Olds list is a good group as well and run/moderated by a guy form my OCA chapter. He is a walking encyclopedia of Olds knowledge.

If you can get around all the bickering, you cannot beat ROP for performance knowledge. I basically just cruise the engine tech / for sale / wanted sections on rop anymore…
I am also on 73-77olds.com because of my wagon and there are some really nice folks on there.
This forum is great, but it only goes so far with only a few regulars posting.

Which is a one or two post a day board. We've been in business for a year and its still slower than hell here.

I am also on 73-77olds.com because of my wagon and there are some really nice folks on there. What kind of wagon do you own? I used to have a 75 Vista, man I loved that car. It just ran and ran and ran. I can't tell you how many parts that wagon hauled for me while I was restoring my wife's Sports Coupe. Went on many a junkyard runs.

That’s an awesome coincidence* haha I have a ’76 Vista parts hauler. It’s the original cross-over. Truck and/or camper. Haha It’s a good old beast. Fold the back seat down and a twin mattress fits perfectly. We camp in it in the pits at races and also in the woods in it. I have hauled everything from wheels, bumpers, engines (apart), transmissions, you name it, and I have had it in there. I made a fishing rod rack on the inside of the roof and my rods hang up there and run the length of the roof so I don’t have to break them down. It also fits a skinny quarter keg of beer under the back floor in the cargo hole perfectly. Close her back up and you would never know it was in there! haha I love that car. Best $500 bucks I ever spent and I’ve been driving it every day for 2-1/2 years. 108,000 miles and I’ve got some lifters starting to go, but it’s getting a new valve-train here shortly. Even with it not running right, ticking and missing a little, I still get 16mpg on the highway with it. That is no shame at 108,000. I lost reverse in it last summer, but I bought a parts car for it for $200 and that happened to have headers and transmission with a shift kit in it, so now they are on it. I bought a cheap dual exhaust kit from summit and made it work. The dash, wheels, and other parts are also off that parts car. I had some 455 stuff laying around, so the 350 now has the 6qt toro pan on it, a Melling oil pump, edelbrock double roller, and an Accel distributor. I have another rearend I want to put 3.42’s and posi in and throw that in there with one of my four speeds sometime too… but that might never happen. I have a total of about $1500 in the thing with everything I have done to it, and I have no qualms about taking it anywhere. Don’t get me wrong, it’s not that nice… in fact, it’s pretty ratty, but I don’t care. It only cost me $12 to paint it! Haha

Wagons are cool. I had a '62 Nova, but we wont talk about that (dad GAVE it away without asking me). My neighbor put the glass sunroof / roof side glass from a Vista Cruiser (not sure what year) in a '32 Ford Sedan Hot Rod. It actually came out pretty sharp. The lines were very nice and from some angles you almost couldnt see that there was dark tinted glass on a black car. Anyways, just contributing to my less than 2 post a day average. For Oldsmobile stuff, since I'm relatively new, I'm only on here and have little to contribute.

Man Oldspeed, that picture brings back some great memories. Mine was a creamy yellow, much lighter than the saffron of the 60's, it was almost a light tan type of yellow with the faux wood grain paneling and a sunroof. That was the coolest junkyard car/parts hauler I ever had, just loved it.
Hey, that new fish in your profile is huge, is that a Muskie? Man, must have been one heck of a catch. I'm heading down to the Outer Banks in November to do some surf fishing ans hopefully hook into a couple that size or bigger.

i ended up keeping 2 salmon... we put back everything else. i ended up with four 2 foot long 5 inch wide 1-1/2 inch thick fillets. i was going to try to smoke them, but after seeing how you have to make brine and dry it and whatever else, i didnt feel like ruining them as i have never smoked anything before. once the steelhead are really running in erie i think i will keep a few and try to smoke those fillets. i am going to do these ones on teh grill tonight. should be good.
