Anybody out there have any experience with a Street Demon Carburetor? They claim that their modern design increases efficiency and MPG. Good or bad, let me know what you think. My goal is driveability, street cruising, no drag racing or autocross. thanks.

No experience with the demon, but my MPG more than doubled going from a Holley to the stock 4GC. And the car will actually start right up even after sitting for weeks. With the Holley the car simply would not start if it sat for more than a week. I would have to pour gas into the bowls. Different Holley's made no difference. I also tried a quadrajet from a well know rebuilder which had the same starting issues. I was always told it was the new crappy gas evaporating, but it is not happening with the 4GC.

I'm really torn between keeping the 4gc, and upgrading. My current carb has start up and cold acceleration issues that I am sure relate to years of ethanol gas used by the prior owner. I am getting a strong gas smell in the garage after use that has now been traced to the carb. I don't have a tank to properly clean a moisture damaged carb body, and don't want to do a half assed rebuild. A pro rebuild runs about $250.00. A new 750 Demon can be had for $350.00. I had a Holley on my first 65 back in 66, great for street racing, but lots of tuning and maintenance issues. Don't want to go there again. Don't want to go to Injection, either.
I'm curious, what kind of mileage do you get now? I get about 10 MPG in normal driving on non-ethanol gas.
