Now that was cool, wish I could read german. Did anyone notice the ID? tag on the upper left side of the fire wall? It must have been a German thing. Wonder if they drive on the autobahn and what speed they would do?

First, thanx for all the comments! Let's see if I can reply in 1 post (as in posting, not post car! )! @ Bubba: Seems like I hardly ever have time to get on my PC @ home. I usually do most of my stuff @ work & the military blocks all streaming video & web hosting. I'll try to get some on Photobucket soon. Can't you do a "save as", save to your harddrive? @ RAMZ: So.... what do you want to do now that you know what an old fart I am? Come over here & find me? Go ahead! I'd be glad to see you (any of you) & I have a spare bedroom! Is your wife German? @ Big Mike: That's just the top part & it's not really that good- has pinholes where the pie pan goes & the chrome is only so-so. @ moxct: Good observation! Your guess is right. I had the choice of doing that or engraving the VIN in the rt front fender well! One of the screwy things the German inspectors require! @ Bro: Now you know someone in the forum that's older than you!! ;D Ralph

I did notice the ID Tag, but his license plate is what caught my eye. Is that the German equivalent of a vintage year tag? Yup! It's normally almost impossible to get a lic# that's personalized. Mine is about as close as you can get. The Bir stands for the county (Birkenfeld), the "H" indicates an officially recognized historical car, the rest is pretty self-explanatory. BTW: In order to get recognized as a historical car, it has to be inspected by an officially recognized automotive engineer! Ralph
