Would really like to restore this steering wheel. Looks like the faux wood has shrunk so I will extend the gray portion, and paint red, to match my car.

Has anyone repaired one of these?

Gary's does amazing wheel restoration work. My friend had the clear steering wheel from his 62 Grand Prix done by them and it is phenomenal. Don't expect a lot of change back from your $1,000 bill, however.
