All Fremont CA built cars sold in California have the "top hat" style oil cap. No exceptions. They also used an acorn shaped breather in the passenger valve cover and a PCV in the drivers side. Mandatory option K20. Cars built in Fremont and sold outstate, i.e Oregon, will have normal Lansing parts but with a plug in the drivers side cover where PCV wouldve been. The sticker on the top of the radiator hold down was used on every non A/C car and was blacked out on every car. No idea what the purpose was other than to cover the two square holes in the hold down. The oil cap is bigger in the photos than the stock piece. The car in the photos was built in Lansing. Note the blacked out data tag. Fremont masked theirs off. Fremont tags are bare metal, but some will have a bit of paint where the mask wasnt hung perfectly. That engine doesn't have the vent tube from the air cleaner like the Lansing built cars. It looks like both valve covers are vented like the Fremont cars. It does have a big vented oil cap instead of the top hat, but it's bigger than factory. I have to correct myself. I had to clean it up in Photoshop to see the snorkle clearly. It does look like the left valve cover has a vent or something. I agree, there seems to be something in the drive side valve cover.

Recent eBay car. Original 44,000 miles. Note the red hold down and the absence of the ultra high compression decal along the front edge. Has the 66-67 style pie plate. Like the car in the pic above.

I wonder if that black spot on the driver side valve car (which has us all confused) is of the steering column where it steps down in dia where the bottom bearing is.

For the ebay car the air cleaner is turned the wrong way and no hose to it either. I don't think in 65 the label said "USE PREMIUM FUEL". (See pic below.) Or maybe the air cleaner label below is a rare variation. It doesn't say Ultra High Compression either. Hmmmm Also the engine must have an oil press gauge hooked up to it because of the fittings near the oil press sender area.

The pic on my screen is really poor. I can`t really tell what it is. But it`s there, and it seems there`s bronze color all around it like it`s in the cover. Doesn`t matter, cool pics to look at. Thanks for sharing

The 65's in my area did not have UHC on a sticker. They looked just like the one you're calling 66-67. The pic below is from my 39,000 mile unmolested Sport Coupe.

Original 65 pie tin from an automatic car . Only cars I've seen with the sticker are the standard shift cars. As for the red hold down I've seen a few 66s with them .

They are both correct and so are the red and chrome hold downs. Now for your Bible Shane. It has a shit load of contradictions and errors. Check for the location of the 442 emblem..........

Thoughts on these please Stickers I used to put these on aluminum backing (wet with dawn) squeegee out real well, turn out nice. Haven`t done any for several years now. The front edge UHC sticker is backed with aluminum, nice and rigid, glues down nice . sold quite a few for a year or so

AT trans and AC car has the center emblem and the sticker. For sure original parts, the original stickers are thicker that the fusick duplicates. the breather on the drivers side was added by me, it`s from a 66, the original hose goes to the carb
