The clone is up for sale again. I found the description quite a joy to read. This car changes hands a least once a year.

where from do you know i is a clone? It has a very long history. I don't know about this seller, but past sellers won't let folks look at the data tag or provide the info from the tag.

I saw this car at an Alliance Ohio meet years ago. When I went to check it out the owner must have reconized me and closed the hood as I walked up to it. He refused to let me see under the hood. ... ... .... Now fast forward several years.................. there are pictures from the new seller (sent to my friend) that show that it is a Lansing built car with 4H on the dataplate. He did say that the paint code was C-R. I didn't look at the sale add, but he said it now in Texas.

The ad says believed to be original 400 engine. My guess is it lacks documentation like the protecto plate, build sheet / tag, or the original docs. But closing the hood to an Olds guy leaves us all with suspicion. From what others have seen and said its a nice car but it changes hands often.

It's a pretty car, but integrity is a big part of the hobby. Sellers says' same owner past 30-years? Either the car has never sold at any of the auctions it's been in...and they faked the sales, or this guy isn't truthful. Either way too much baggage for the money. I did contact the seller to asked about the previous auction sales, but no response to date.

It showed that the engine was the correct 389298 B block, but clearly showed that the dataplate has 4H (beltline trim) NOT 4V (442 code).
