How difficult is it to install the new seat covers? I've restored the whole interior myself except the seats to this point, and didn't know how difficult this project would be.

Rear seat easy, buckets are very time consuming.

Like you, I did my whole interior.. including the rear seat which was easy. I started on the fronts and after a few minutes I decided I would let someone else slay that dragon... If you can afford to, let the pros do the front...so much less stressful

I was going to try to do it myself, but then decided I would probably end up wrecking the covers and farmed it out to an interior guy.

Pay close attention when disassembling the old seat covers. Take a lot of photos. buy a GOOD hog ring pliers and plenty hog rings. Save the metal wires from the old seat covers, you will need to re-use them in the new covers. I placed vinyl down on the seat springs, then covered with 1inch foam padding, then hog ringed the thick remanufactured seat foam to the springs in a couple placed. The hardest part is getting the hog rings to attach from the seat cover to the springs. Apply a lot of pressure with your knee or have another person apply the pressure while you push and close the hog ring pliers. The new seat covers are very forgiving and will appear to be too small, but they will fit perfect.

Do all the vendors sell the same seat covers? I'm sure Legendary's are better, but they are way more expensive.

I believe there are just two makers, Legendaty and PUI. So everyone is just selling one or the other. I have legendary in my 64. Haven't seen a PUI set in person ,that I know of , to compare.
