I bought my adapters from Auto Krafters, 540-740-8000, located in VA, part #7210H689. The factory rods will not work with a Hurst Shifter, will need to buy the correct rod kit. The shifter will be approximately 2" taller than stock.

Huge difference between a Muncie and a Hurst, especially a Hurst in good condition. However, I'd bet your Muncie cleaned up and rebushed would make a world of difference

Never heard of any rebuild kits for Muncie, you would have to be creative and make bushings like Hurst uses where rods connect to the shifter gates. Huge difference between Hurst and Muncie.

I don't know if there are rebuild kits, never looked myself. However, I purchased an advertised rebuilt Muncie shifter and it was waaaaaay better than the Muncie that was in my car when I got it.

Jim toss that Muncie gate in the scrap pile and purchase a hurst gate and rods and the adapter.
