65 Holiday manual trans...putting back the 455 that the car came with when I bought it...will be rebuilt, mild build, Edlebrock heads, it had a Torquer intake manifold and a Holley 3310 carb and Moroso air cleaner...hood looks like there was a clearance issue...small dent...may have been just to long of a center bolt...air cleaner is 1-1/2" to 2" thick...I was thinking of re using the 3310 on top of a performer instead of the torquer...if I understand correctly the performer is slightly shorter than the Torquer...I was hoping this might help with clearance issue... car will be strictly for the street...I'm curious as what others have done with similar set ups...

The performer will work but you need the lowest sitting air cleaner that edelbrock sells. I had to trim one of the studs from my hood centre moulding as it still hit the air cleaner

With a 455, Edelbrock carb and a Torker, I had a K&N 7/8 drop base, and it cleared.

In my 64 I have a Performer,3310 and a generic drop base air cleaner and it clears fine. At some point, probably after a cam change, I may change to a Torker or Street Dominator so I'm interested too.
How is the Edelbrock carb height compared to a Holley?

Performer is about a 1/2" TALLER than the Torker.
