Finally have wheels, tires and plates on the car. So I took it for its first spin around the block..... Needs a bath and to finish some things up, but it felt awesome driving it for the first time since picking it up as a roller back in 2006. Going to be a fun summer.

Thanks, still have to put the center caps on them yet. I will say, not a fan over the manual drum brakes so far. Lol.

Looks great, I like the "stance" Thanks ! Me too. Rear springs are brand new and fronts as far as I know are 1964. Lol Worked out ok. And the 1" increase in tire height was enough so that the mufflers clear the driveway entrance without scraping. Still going to play around with the exhaust a bit. But the important thing is that it's on the road. :-)

I like it, my first run in my wagon after a 4 year sleep was without doors and expired New Mexico plates in Arizona.

The condition of our cars, on our 1st run, after having them down, would be an interesting thread.

That is great, Jamie. Was wondering if you had her on the road, yet. Congrats!! I've always liked the white top on your car.

Congrats!!! I see you fill out the drivers seat pretty good. Like someone else I know LOL. I moved my seat back 6 inches it helps a bunch for comfort.

Lol. Yeah seemed more roomy back in the late 80's early 90's when I had my first one. Of course I was a little smaller then. Lol.

Well I couldve sworn I had checked the rear lights previously, but I was having an issue with the left turn signal. Come to find out, none of the rear lights worked except the right turn signal. Looked at the socket on the left side and it was all corroded. So I replaced it and it wasn't any better. Looking more into it today..... I find this. When I touched the sending unit wire, it came out. Lol. Guess that was part of my gauge problem. Luckily a number of years ago, a guy that I bought some 64 doors off of, gave me a few wiring harnesses and I have a new one to use that's in great shape. And the gas gauge works now. Also found out the connector on the flat strap was on backwards, fixed that too.

Worked on it some more today. Left turn signal wasn't working even after replacing the socket. Ran a ground wire from socket to body and BINGO, it works!
Another victory. LOL

Took it out for a shakedown run. 40 or so miles through three counties, some freeway, some city, some country roads. A few minor issues, but nothing major. Had fun, even the heat works since it was a little chilly. Lol One of my stops today...
