LATE IN 1964 OR 65 THEY STARTED PUTTING Q-JET CARBS ON 65 442. DOES ANYONE HAPPEN TO KNOW IF THEY USED A COMPLETLY DIFFERENT INTAKE OR IF THEY USED A 4gc INTAKE WITH AN Q-JET ADAPTER PLATE. I AM OH SO TIRED OF MY 4GC AND AM THINKING OF PUTTING ON A Q-JET. THANKS JIM

Late in 64 was when the first 65 442s were built.
Nobody to this point has come forward with a factory Q jet 65.

Just pick up a 66 or 67 intake if you want cast iron, or buy an aftermarket aluminum intake. Then get a Q-jet from Sparky; www.sparkyscarbs.com/

Nothing wrong with a 4GC
Here`s my logic; If I attempted brain surgery on someone, I doubt they would fair very well.
If a 200 lb. human heart was transplanted in to a mouse?
If the heart of a mouse was transplanted in to a 200 lb. person?
Just sayin

My limited experience with 4gc = junk . Had mine rebuilt by three diffrent guys. Was never able to get rid of the stumble from a stop. Changed it over to holley it woke the engine up. No more stumbling and lots more power.

Tried to make the 4gc stuff work several years ago-finally gave up. Just massage a one half inch adapter plate to work and put a Holley on it. Problem solved. Never had a problem with Holley carbs and you can fine tune them to any motor. Darn near idiot proof :-)
