The Saginaw 4 speed doesn't seem to be a popular choice or command much money compared to the Muncie. Is the Saginaw trans considered an inferior trans?
What is the basic differences between the M20 and M21?
Thanks, JOhn

the saginaw is a weaker trans, better suited to v6 or low horse v8's. not sure of gear ratios, the muncie m20 is a wide ratio trans, great for toolin around , the m21 and m22 are a close ratio, better suited for racing

Stan, how do you define "low horse V8"? Would a 330 fall into that category?

There is plenty of anecdotal information about how weak parts can survive in the wrong application if you baby them (Saginaw four speeds, T5 five speeds, 7.5" rear axles). The question is, why bother? If you're going to baby the car, you don't need the high-perf engine anyway.
