Possible it`s a common place for it to break on a plastic trim piece, but I doubt on the padded version. I`m sorry, I really feel like a idiot, but I fail to see any difference in the concave area for the steering column between the two trim pads oldstata posted pics of, one supposedly a 64, and the other a 65.
And I don`t know what he said

i was wrong about the opening,i checked my original 64 and it has a cover plate that goes where the 65 is curved. does that make sense? ill try to get a lic up, along with my 66 dash and my 65. 65vs 66 curved opening different size, padding thicker. 64 vs 65 square opening with cover plate, same padding. makes perfect sense

Here are some pics of the only type of trim pad I`ve ever seen in a 64. Don`t pay any attention to the grain of the vinyl, a few years ago I experimented building a vacuum table to re-cover a trim pad, used a generic sport vinyl, worked O.K. No need to post 65 pics I guess, everyone knows what they look like?

Here is what he came up with
all 1964 Fremont built cars. 6A No (but dash was recovered) 12B Yes 3C No 4D No 7E No (but dash was recovered) The only one with the split dash is the wagon, which is also an F85 rather than a Cutlass.

And I might be thinkin outa my ass here, but I THINK there all f-85`s

Please correct me if I am wrong oh mighty one !

I fail to understand how this is Mis information ? ( I see it as the only one with the split is the base model f85 )
been modified in some way possible not 64 could have been changed "Don`t know exactly (or even remotely) what this means"
What don't you understand about been modified ? (100% chance this was not original to the car )
Please correct me if I am wrong oh mighty one ! "Now your just gettin pissy"
