So today I had some time to check compression on my motor and boy was I shocked. Low was #5 at 95 lbs and plug was black and oily, High was #6 at 160 lbs with a dry black plug. So anyways shouldn't compression be at or around 200 lbs. Other than plug #5, all plugs were dry and black. Oh yeah anyone hear from POSTCAR (Mike) in a while?

#1 was at 100lbs, #3was at 125lbs, #5 was at95lbs, #7 was at110lbs, #2 was at 95lbs, #4 was at115lbs, #6 was at 145lbs, #8 was at 110lbs. still runs bad and pushing fuel and or flames out of carb. I have an 11 mo. old boy so not a lot of time to trouble shoot. Here and their you know.

There's a list of items you can try to pinpoint your problem, my first guess would be timing chain, has it ever run good? I hear from Mike every now and then, seems to doing OK, his family is still growing as he was blessed with another grandchild a few weeks ago.

You can do a wet compression test
A few drops of oils down the cylinder during each compression test for each cylinder if compression goes up it's blow by by the ring if not could be timing or valve issues
Flames out the carb dies sound more of a timing issue
