I understand basic wiring, but that's about it. I have a question on wiring for the switch pitch. Does it create any issues by tying in an override switch to the wire for the variable pitch solenoid? Does that cause any "conflict" with the circuit? Obviously there will be times where I could have the toggle switch on, and the firewall switch could also be passing 12-volts to the switch (such as at idle. I've done this for years, but recently my solenoid failed, and I just want to make sure that wiring it up this way isn't "stressful" on the whole circuit.

There's no issue with what you are trying to do. If both switches are closed, you simply have two wires in parallel from the battery to the solenoid. That's no different than using a single larger copper wire.
