I was contacted by a man who is building a clone 442. He asked where the holes need to be drilled for the side scoops and wanted it to be as exact as possible, I thought this came up a while back but had no luck tracking it down, yes I tried the search still nothing. My 442 is in storage and I can't just go their when I please and its over 60 miles from me. Thanks gents

There is a measurement diagram on Bros sight I got a templet from ramZ as well he charge me a small fee for his time and shipping them priority.
As for cloning I wasn't going to at first really just like the look of the scoops but as fate would have it my wife bought me the emblems so it's getting cloned But will always be recognized as such

I do not support the creating of clones.... As long as it's not sold at one time or another as a real 442, I see no issues.

OldRide.com definition: A clone is when you take a standard, base model car and add options and equipment to make it into a copy of a rare, original muscle cars using the same options such as trim, decals, hood scoops, and motor that the higher optioned cars had originally from the factory. In some cases, the cars look exactly like their muscle car replicas, but are less valuable because they are not authentic. Clones are a great way to own their more expensive counterparts and there is nothing wrong with making a clone as long as the owner does not try to sell it or pass it off as an original, authentic muscle car.
Clone a biological definition:
an organism or cell, or group of organisms or cells, produced asexually from one ancestor or stock, to which they are genetically identical.
Using this as a basis and being more object orientated, a definition could be derived as: a car part or parts produced from one (Original) stock mold which are identical. So, could it be inferred all cars beyond the original are clones...is a car a clone if the original engine is no longer with the car? Is a car a clone if it is not 100% bone stock from the day it left the factory?
I think the takeaway is as stated above: Clones are a great way to own their more expensive counterparts and there is nothing wrong with making a clone as long as the owner does not try to sell it or pass it off as an original, authentic muscle car. I prefer 100% original cars, but also appreciate the work put into making one as you want it. I know I've had/done both....

Ok so here we go, Hurstoldz with no disrespect not all of us can just go out and buy a completed 442 and secondly you don't even know the basis of the reason why I was asked to post this thread. so here goes, This mans father bought a cutlass new off floor handed it to him 30 years later, now him and his 13 year old son are restoring it. Yeah A clone but isn't spending time with your son or any family member more important than than anything. I mean come on a simple post in these cold days causes ridicule for some, really, are you 10, like I said the car has been in the family forever. Im just a low paid blue collar printing press operator who got lucky on a real 442 which some day will be finished but at least I can say "I" Did it with family or friends help. Once again with no disrespect to you Hurstoddz, like familyrides stated not everyone can afford the real thing, but to work on a classic car with a 13 year old would be priceless to me rather just writing a check for the real thing.

I absolutely agree with you, and I do not feel disrespected whatsoever... I do however take issue with people who clone/tribute/recreate/orwhateveryouwanttocallit and try to sell it as the real deal. Once again, I was only kidding which is why I put a big happy smiley face after my comment....

Go to my "HOW TO DO IT" page, there's a link with crude measurements. Crude? Whoever did that, did a nice job Really like the new "look" of your site. Impressive. It should be mandatory reading. Sorta crude..... I knocked it out in 15 minutes this morning
