I know this maybe should be in the vender area but was wondering what experience any of you guys have had with a place in Illinois(I think) called "the parts place inc dot com". I bought a couple of items recently and had a real good experience with the salesman-helpful courteous accommodating, a good guy-even went and got one of the parts I was asking about and called me back with the correct info. Anyway, their prices are really good and I was going to order several more things but thought maybe I just got lucky the first time and would get some other opinions. They don't have everything but their prices on what they do have are about 40% cheaper than OPGI. It is a big difference.

I had a bad experience with them orderd seat spring for my olds they sent me springs for a chevy, I wanted to return them they wanted me to pay return shipping and 25% restocking fee and then they would send me the correct ones. After a month calling and emailing daily they finally took them back at there expense . I kept the seat foam I orderd from them but wished I would have sent it back also it's very firm and dense . Sitting on the bucket seats now is like sitting on a rock.

I just ordered a few parts from them. Before you can check out they will not quote you a price for shipping. The shipping rate does not show up until you get your invoice. My parts were $35,but did not know until later there was a $5 shipping. I did not mind the $5 ,but would have like to know ahead of time. If you were to purchase a high dollar part, have extra for shipping. I do like them and will buy from them again

Gary, OPGI matches prices for all competitors selling equal quality parts. I have bought countless items from OPGI and have saved several $100 over the years by having them match the price. The only thing they would not match for me was a heater core. They use a higher quality core than most, at least that is what they said. They matched all interior costs presented by me from BAP and the Parts Place. Both BAP and the Parts Place have cheaper prices than OPGI. If you visit SoCal in the near future, it is worth stopping at OPGI (save on shipping which will help pay for the return trip home).

I have bought from them several times or the last 5 years or so. Will do it again if they have something I need. Most of the time now I just order online, so not much interaction with sales staff. When I have called, I'd rate the experience with the sales guy I had on the phone anywhere from an A- to a C-, sometimes very helpful, sometimes seems like they could care less. Over 5 years that's to be expected, as I'm sure they have some employee turnover.

I just wanted to thank you guys for the comments. Even though I am closer to OPGI, they are a little too arrogant with their attitude and prices for me. Parts place does not have everything but seem like a better bunch. Thanks again.

I ordered from them several years ago, both for the Olds and for my Camaro. No problems at all. I ordered a full trunk pan as well as a patch panel for the floor two weeks ago. The shipping turned out to be $135.00. They sent me an email and asked if I still wanted the parts or did I want to cancel. I cancelled with no problem. So far, I can't complain, although I have heard about customer complaints on other forums.
