It looks like my power steering pump has the wrong brackets because the pump is crooked. The car is 65 cutlass with a 70 455 motor. I was told by the previous owner he used the original 330 pump bracket and that is why the pump is not aligned properly.
Anyone know what brackets I need and does anyone have a picture of them? I'm guessing I have to use brackets from later cutlasses but don't know for sure.
Thanks in advance for all your help, John 914-737-3299

From my understanding if they used all the 330 brackets it should align if they mixed and matched brackets that is what is causing the alignment issue
Maybe post some pics and maybe some one could tell you what brackets look off

I have an extra set of power steering brackets from a 65 400 if you need them.
On the 68 Cutlass I had I put a 455 in it and the original 350 brackets lined up perfect.

Thanks you all for the information. The bracket and pump are from the original 330. From all that everyone is telling me they should work fine. After removing the pump and bracket it looks like the pump is crooked in the bracket. I'm thinking that maybe the bracket got bend somehow so I bid on the same bracket on ebay. I'll pass on what I find out after I get the bracket.
Thanks again for all the help, John

Thanks again to everyone that responded. After taking the pump off the car, removing the pulley it now looks like the pump is not correct for the brackets I have.
I now believe the original 330 brackets I have are correct because they bolt up to the motor and alternator bracket above as they should. But when I place the current bracket on the pump it can't sit correctly due to a ridge on the pump near the adjusting bolt. This causes the pump to sit cockeyed by about 3/8" or more and on top of that, the pulley is also bent causing a wobble.
I posted on 65 parts for a pump.
Again thanks again for all your help.
John

Thanks to older pics, question and answers from people on here, I was able to install a p.s. unit on my 65 cutlass, which was a manual steer car. Tomorrow it comes back off for a cleaning and paint.
