Well, where to start.... I picked up this 442 from a fellow Olds fanatic after my last tour in Iraq. It is an original 400, 4-speed car, and although a majority of the car is covered in red, I believe it is an original saffron yellow car. I have a 1970 455 and an M22 4-speed set aside for the eventual build. I am currently working on an advanced degree at the University of Kansas (KU) and have plans to begin the build in earnest when I retire from the Army in a couple of years. The work you fella's share of your on-going builds is informative, and inspirational. Thanks again for all the tech advice and parts assistance. NS

Based on my VIN (338 375 M 1xxxxxx), it looks like I have:
3 (GM) 3837 (Holiday Coupe) 5 (1965 production year) M (Lansing, Michigan Plant) 1xxxxxx (production number)
Can anyone direct me to a good place to decode color, options, etc...?
Thanks again.

A cursory search provided this additional information:
(ST) 12C = my car was built during the third week of December in 1965
(TR) 950-B (Black Bucket Interior)
(Body Paint) Y-Y (Saffron Yellow; the Y-Y indicates Saffron Yellow upper/lower paint coding)
(ACC) W 2L (W is for a tinted windshield, and the 2L is for the 4-speed cut-out)
4v (442 Designation) I think I got it all decoded!!!!

That 12C is more likely December of '64, not '65. By December of '65 the factories making '66's.

Early car. Yellow looks good, you should go back to it.
