What are you guys using to cover that 1-3/8 or maybe 1-5/16 hole just below the voltage regulator on your firewall. Cant seem to find a blind grommet or plug large enough anywhere. It is a factory hole correct?

I drove out to my storage garage and clipped a picture. Since im told its not a factory hole any simple ideas to cover it other than welding a plate over it? Unable to locate any blind grommets that size, to me that would be ideal.

It looks very similar to the types of holes left in trunks and roofs of police cars. The fleet I managed use to buy them by the box from a special vehicle specialties company and I don't remember the name. But I do know that Restoration Specialties sells them; www.restorationspecialties.com/

Install a mechanical tach on the steering column and run the cable through it...
