Was looking to install a 350 olds engine in 1964 olds f-85. was looking for headers that would fit. was wondering if a 65 442 has a similar steering shaft and cross member, or anything else that might cause a clearance issue. might end up running the original manifolds also. Let me know what everyone thinks, thanks for reading and thanks for your thoughts

The shaft and cross-member are virtually the same. The 330, 350 and 403 all have the same block. The frame is narrower in 64 thru 67 and that is why many headers will not work. This is in comparison to 68 and up which minimal mods if any are required. I guess you could get some Hookers and use a BFH with torch to make the frame clearance or shell out some cash and buy some from Dick Miller. I believe he has the old Kook's sb olds headers designed specific for '65 cars. I have no first hand experience with this but maybe someone else will chime in.

Hookers comp work on my big block but not sure on the small blocks? Only clearance issue (aside from really tight installation) is the upper A-Arm on the passenger side. Need to grind down the top of the A-Arm a bit. Easy fix though. I suspect small block headers fit differently though....

BBO headers on SBO will not work. Contact Smitty at www.mjproformance.comHe can tell you what headers that will work.
