Stick shift cars made in 64 and before the HD 3 speeds came out, what bellhousing do you have? The one with only a muncie pattern and the round bottom, Or this one...

Isn´t the first one a Buick only bellhousing? No room for a Olds starter if you don´t grind some on it

Fixed the pic.
The assembly manual shows the round bottom up until the three speed Ford HD trans shows up in Feb. 65. Cant find a part number in there for it though.
#9773320 is for the first one. Pontiac guys say its 64 GTO only, but Olds used the same block pattern and transmissions in their A bodies in 64 and 65. Buick was still using the Nail Head, so only 64 330/early 330-400 Olds and Pontiac would/could have used this bellhousing.
Does it make sense that GM wouldnt have had a Ford Toploader pattern bell (the bottom one) until they decided to offer it?

From the Pontiac site the HD (Ford) 3 speed wasnt offered in the GTO until March of 65. So the dual pattern bell housing didnt exist until the HD 3 Speed 442 was introduced in Feb. Or so I figure....

Same one THAT WAS for sale on ebay? Yah, Bubba's rooftop ware house has one for sale too at $130.00, maybe even a 10 % discount if you use in store pickup.
