bare block with fresh coat of paint, lined & honed, bored over to 468, with oil restrictors:
machined for torrington cam bearing:
flat top pistons w/ valve relief:
piston rings precision filed for perfect fit:
cryogenically frozen aluminum rods:
lightened & balanced crank w/ chisel cut counter weights, BB chevy rod journal, studded and strapped for strength, 4.250 stroke:
JM-5-1 roller cam, card and crank specs shown:
J heads heavily modified....drilled for 3/8" pushrods, 2.07/1.71 valves, aluminum rockers, exhaust & intake ports opened up & polished, bowl work, shaved for 13:1 compression:
and here is how it sits now....just got my Torker II intake manifold which is in the process of being port matched before installing:
fuel delivery system will consist of a fresh fuel tank, 1/2" RobbMC sending unit, 1/2" aluminum hard line from tank to carb, 300gph RobbMC fuel pressure regulator, Mallory Comp-250 electric fuel pump. have to show a pic of the sending unit and fuel regulator from RobbMC:
now technically, for full power potential, this motor needs a 1050cfm carb. the cam operating range is 3800-7500rpm and should make around 625HP/575ft/lb @ 6500. however, i am going to run a 850cfm Mighty Demon to tame it down a little & limit the rev's to exactly 6500rpm so it'll be a bit more street friendly.
i plan to purchase a full oiling system from M&J Proformance which features his very own blue printed HV oil pump, along with his custom made full length headers. these headers are specifically designed for 64-67 BB A-body's and apparantly bolt right up without and modification. they feature 2" primaries & 3.5" slip on collectors.
i am undecieded on accessories & brackets....i really like the March performance non-A/C setup. i'm looking at the "Ultra Style" package. but i'm still tossing around ideas, depends what cash flow allows.
drivetrain will be a TH400 w/ TransGo stage 2 shift kit and a new rear end (either 12 bolt GM or 9" Ford) with 3.42/3.50 gear. i really like the Currie rear end's. still tossing around ideas on the rear as well. again, depends what comes up and what cash flow allows. whatever i end up with, it will be suspended by the Dick Miller 7028 4-link kit w/ triangulation braces, relocated upper control arm mounts, adjustable upper control arms, new shocks & sway bar.
