I am trying to get the new steering column in, I have the bracket that holds out secure to the dash, I have the plate that bolts it to the firewall, I know I need to order a new seal for that plate but am I missing something? Out seems to me there should be more holding the column in place

I hate typing posts on my phone like the one above, it always screws up the spelling, anyway, I took a look at my buddies 65 vert and it seems that sure enough the seal if the only thing holding the column in place at the firewall, That kinda scares me!

The firewallplate should have an adjustable clamp to hold the bottom end down. Up top is just two bolts to the pedal bracket assembly. Slide it in the rag joint, connect everything else finger tight, check for binding, let it eat.
