I done some reseach today about ordering a fuel tank. Spectra part number GM37A or summit part number 4030-750-64 (same tank) is an Oldsmobile tank, that sells for 220-250, and does not include a filler neck. They do not make a filler neck for that tank, my old one is ruined. Ironically after some digging I noticed the Chevelle tank is the identical part number with the exception of the last number, GM37B or summit 4030-750-641. After calling Spectra, the chevelle tank includes a filler neck and is almost 100.00 cheaper, 119.95 at summit and it is the same identical tank with a filler neck. My question is this: How much different can the Chevelle filler neck be? and if it is different I dont think we would have a problem fixing it to fit the 442 perfectly. Can anyone shed some light on this?

Just looked up the Chevelle tank from Sherman Auto , they are 150 from them. Got to thinking, the difference may be, the return line. I know, that a GTO thank is physically the same but it doesn't have the return in the tank and the neck was a little different. On the Chevelle it may be the same thing?? I looked up the one for the Olds and there was no listing. For the GTO it was GM37F and GM37H one was 211/2 gallons. Must be it's thicker??

I've got the chevelle tank with filler neck ordered. Should be here friday or monday, I will post pics of the old and new tank. For 110.00 price difference between the two and the cheaper of the two having a filler neck I think If it isnt a perfect fit I will make it a perfect fit

Let me know if your interested followed by directions of how not to blow myself up God Damn it is good to be remembered for something besides the fact I wife just voted me The Sexiest Man Alive for the 20th year in a row. Vg, you are going to have to beg, borrow or steal a 65 Olds A=Body neck to make the Chevelle tank fly. Or I will just sell you mine...... And before somebody gets their undies in a wad again, no the Olds neck in this pic is not soldered in yet. the pic shows it upside down. I took the pic to compare the two fillers. Andy
