That roof picture is interesting. Did they blast/strip away all the lead work away, I've never seen a roof like that, they are always finished.

there is a clear weld on the sail panel, which could mean the quarter was replaced or the roof skin. crh is a member here, so maybe he can shed some light on why the lead was removed. maybe it was needed for another project

according to the ebay post someone had a sunroof installed in it a one time and he had roof from a donor car that he installed. That can't be easy.

I guess we all need to read a little more, rather than just look at the photos. It looks like it was cut at the a-pillar and sail panel, then welded back toghether. Less time, but technically difficult. Typically people just replace the rough skin to avoid messing with the structure....difficult to get things lined up again. Replacing just the roof skin involves drilling at least 175 spot welds from the donor skin.........time consuming!!!

Crap, I keep wondering if I should sell parts separate but I don't want to not have them if I end up keeping the car.
Yes, the roof had a nasty sunroof and the spare roof had its lead removed but then the project stalled. When I got it I felt better cutting and welding at the pillars, so I went that route. It was wild to see the seam without lead!

...and I am slow to get rid of the console because it came on this car. The car only got up to $3,550 when the first listing ended. Just $450 shy of the reserve. I thought it was a good deal...! So I re-listed it, and if it just can't make the $4,000 mark I will pack it away for that project down the road.
