Light racing doesn't count as road racing buddy. If I get caught by the police for drag racing, I will be sure to tell them It doesn't count. if your speaking of road course racing then no. LMFAO I love that reply. Just like Postcar telling me I am getting off track, maybe I was but you have a better understanding, and I am like you, I wanna race, thumpety Chevelle comes around the corner and I wanna bust his ass with Olds power, I see a sheriff coming I wanna slow down fast!

I wasn't talking about drag racing, I was talking about racing light to light like all the yahoo's do. We do our pure, "secret" drag racing in special area's. The cops used to time us at the end of our runs with their radar guns, but alas those days are gone. Just back to plain pure drag racing, defiantly not on the thoroughfares with all the other yahoo's around. But in reality those days are past for me, just a little burnout here or there. Especially with a stocker only to play with.

Bubba drag racing is what I meant by light to light Here on rt 57, 4 lane road lights are about 1 mile apart there are very few side roads that allow access without there being a traffic light. I don't just race my self to race my self light to light thats stupid I only run if the guy next to me is willing to run. A few minutes ago on my way home a guy in focus wanted to run so we ran from stop light to stop light.

Shane, I just run a stock rebuilt front disc setup from an early 70's Monte Carlo along with a manual master cyl. from the same. No issues stopping and much better than stock drums.

I converted to manual discs from a 71 Chevelle wagon, and am using a master cylinder from an 89 Chrysler Town and Country minivan. I just needed to put a Wilwood prop valve after the master, and it works great. Not alot of effort to get it stopped needed even coming down from over 120. I agree with ricks65cutlass & chadman on this. I run 4-wheel manual GM production discs on my 67 Camaro drag car and have no trouble slowing the car down at 115 w/o power assist. My car stops so much better and easier then it ever did with drums.

I forgot to mention that I did change my master cylinder to a late 60's Corvette manual disc brake unit. I also removed my proportioning valve and do not run one at all.

I put manual discs on my '65 drag 442. got the kit online from over in waterloo, ia, but don't remember the co. Kit came with everything I needed except plumbing, master cylinder, and prop valve. I used a master cylinder from a '70 442 with manual discs. Got it from Car Quest for about $60. Seems to work fine so far, but it has onlt had to slow the car down from 101mph (1/8 mile). Will get on a 1/4 mile track soon so hope it works!!
