I ran across this picture I took at the 1990 OCA Nationals in Columbus, Ohio. The best I can remember, the guy owned a red 65 442 and had made this trailer out of his parts car. When he was using it as a trailer, he covered up the open part with a vinyl cover that I think snapped on like a pickup truck bed cover. It also had something like a golf cart motor and a tiller steering set-up of some kind that he could ride around the show field in. The hitch part came out from under the drive shaft area and had some type of trailer wheel under it and that's how he would steer. I could be completely wrong about that, as I never got to talk to him, but saw him riding around several times at the show. It had working taillights and I think they flashed. I have never seen it again at any other nationals and I just wondered if anyone here has seen it or knows what happened to it. It was really cool.

That's pretty far out there! Seen lots of Truck beds and vintage roadsters turned into trailers, but never a 60's muscle car. Someone should try to track down the owner. I would bet that he'll get a bunch of interrested questions....

I saw it at Night under Fire in Norwalk in 1994 ( I think ) . It did have an electric motor and some sort tiller for steering. Never found who owned it and never saw it again.

Ouch! It is kind of a sin to cut a '65 442 in half... Plus, BR[] does point guns at people, so beware supporting Oldsmo-abuse like 442 destruction. But on the bright side, maybe it got's nossss...

Not to worry guys, the best I can remember this was just the left over parts from his restoration. I think maybe this car had been totaled in an accident and only the back end was salvageable. He had the identical car restored and used this as his trailer rather than just scrapping what was left. He used the trunk for all his car show supplies and spirit items. It was really a sharp set-up when the car and trailer were hooked up.

I wonder what 1/2 a 442 is worth?
