So I sold a set of floor mats on Ebay; titled correct as CTS floor mats. description clearly states CTS floor mats. F'ing Ebay compatability chart states SRX floor mats and someone bought them based on this info. Now the buyer is asking for a refund. I will probably give him a refund based on a few things: 1) Mats are not used 2) He has the original pastic bag they came out of 3) He ships them back in the same box I shipped them in Am I being fair or asing for too much?

Although ebay compatbility states one thing, in the end, you sold the mats. I learned a long time ago its better to confirm with the buyer via contacts so there are no disconnects after the sale. Your listing does state no returns, but as long as the buyer is willing to send them back to you at their cost and in the same condition, that's probably the right way to go. Then relist them, charge for shipping, and don't use the compatability chart. My 2-cents worth...

Never use the compatibility charts, or state in your add it is the buyers responsibility to verify the correct application. These charts are the reason we get 5000 hits when searching 1965 Oldsmobile 442. You are not asking too much.

Thanks for the advice. I told him I'd issue a refund as long as I got the mats back in their original packaging and they are in the same condition he received them in. Also told him he'd be responsible for paying to ship them back and he'd get his refund after I received and inspected them.

I would def get with eBay on the phone at 1-800-domedry to see if you could get your listing fees and maybe your buyers shipping fees covered as it was once again thier mistake.
I just bought $1400 worth of accesories for my new 2012 Kawasaki Teryx4 4 seater SBS. Of all I bought, nothing fit as the four seater is new for '12. All of eBay's compatability listings made no difference between the two and the sellers cannot turnb them off. eBay covered the shipping on the listing fees and the return shipping on a Muzzy exhaust, rear bumper, windshield, and the Dynatech Rev Box.

Tell him to buy a CTS and save on the return shipping.
Seriously though, you put the part number... it's the buyers responsibility. Depends on how nice of a guy you want to be.
