hello all and thanks for letting me join the forum. i am looking for a project with a clean title. i live in Kentucky so if the car doesn't have a title, KY won't issue me a title. i have one now that doesn't have a title and they won't do anything for me to get the car titled in my name. i have already started on the car and the chassis is complete but i need a clean titled car that is mostly complete to make one drive able car. i have searched craigslist all over the eastern half of the country and I'm not having any luck. to sum it up, the car I'm looking for could be rusted to the core as long as it has a clean title.
thanks Duane

Sounds like Baitcar to me. Revinning a car is a jail time offence in most states, and Kentucky is one of those.

I have a clean title only because I forgot to give it to the scrap yard when I scrapped the car. Title only, no vin or cowl tags.

65 cutlass f85 convertible.(under construction) I'm scraping a 65 Cutlass vert that I call old rusty, it's really just a parts car. I'm going strip it and sell off the parts that are still good. I could be convinced to sell it whole, what you do with it after that is your business. I'm just outside of DC in the Old Dominion. I'd be happy to unwrap it and snap a few pics if you would like. Fair warning, it's in craaaapy shape, but it does have a clean title.

HMM interesting, couldn't you have someone in a state title it in his name the legal way and then turn around and sell it to you for 50.00 or whatever?

I will be happy to post some pics, but it will be a few days. I had to go out of town sooner than expected to help my son with a tough deal. I will be back on Wednesday and get some for you. I see that jims442 made you an offer so let me know if you take him up on his offer so I won't go through unwrapping Old Rusty. Where in KY are you located BTW?

I get what your meaning is but that could be an expensive way to go. Here in Ohio the car has to be inspected by the BMV. And the cost of transporting the car to Ohio having it inspected then if they approve you for an abandon title for the car you would have to transport it back home. Seems like a lot of work to get a title. Just by a junk vert with the title pull the vin and data tag and be done with it. when I bought my first 65 442 I had to make an appointment with the BMV to come out and inspect my car that took them 3 months to do and I had clean Indiana title for it.
