I believe there were some tar paper strips up there. All I found was remnants of it on the tank and some tar on the underside of the trunk pan.

I believe Napier-ROP member in Austin cuts those gas task insulators, he has the right material and in expensive.

Thanks guys. Already put in the order for the Anti-Squeak kit and the gas tank insulation pad from The Parts Place. If they don't look like what I want to use, I'll return them. I'll let you know.

Will post pix when back in the states but there are four spots on the top of the tank that get insulated as well.
