Bill, sweet looking two-tone Sports Coupe. I have a real soft spot for those combos. Our first 65 is a two-tone SC, a Lucerne Mist with a white top. The white top two-tones are my favorite. Nice car, posts some more pics and welcome to the group. BTW, what paart of NC do you hail from. I love NC, go there several times a year to surf fish in the OBX.

Thanks guys! I should really check in here more often lol. I appreciate all the compliments. real57vetteguy, you're right the car was at the AutoFair. I could not turn down an invite from a couple of OCA members lol. The story on this car is about 7 years ago my Dad bought this car from the original owners son. It was a v6 auto. All paperwork, POP, etc, blah, blah. My Dad had owned several 65's in years past and wanted another one to build the way he wanted to "back in the day" (a 65 post w/ 455). The car had just been repainted the original colors with a touch of pearl. Anyway he spent a couple of years assembling this car with a healthy 455, 400th, QP 9", Metco/Edelbrock/Hotchkins susp, and 4wheel discs. With less than 1,000miles, there was a knocking coming from the engine. Discouraged after all the work, he sent the engine to a "reputable" engine builder for a rebuild and dyno tune. Another 1,000miles later was a piston failure. Thoroughly disgusted with all the time and money$$$ spent on this car, he thought of selling it. As anyone knows if you build an Olds drivetrain from scratch, you better have patience and money. Dad had aquired 2 more projects since and was all out of patience for this car. It took a while, but he finally agreed to let me take the engine home and see what I could do. A few months later I had the engine ready to go, but by then all the excitement was gone as he was deeper into his new projects and this car just sat in the garage. I kept nagging him about the F-85 and maintaining it, driving it etc. And from time to time reminding him that if anything happened to him, that the F-85 was mine lol. He gave me a call this past spring and asked me to come buy his shop and pick up some parts. When I stopped by, he handed me the keys and title to the F-85 and asked that I finish the car and take care of her. He has many projects going right now, and has no time or real desire for to keep up with this car right now, and I'm more than happy to take care of it. The car is not so nice that you can't drive it, so we enjoy it as much as possible. I've been waiting on my sis-in-law to come out with her nice camera to get some high resolution pics of the car, so until then my cell phone pics will have to work lol. I would like to add that I do have alot of work into this car! I give my Dad credit where it's due (he built a hell of a car), but I also take credit for where the car is now.

My first car was a 64 Fairlane sports coupe (near lane). Your dads Olds' should've busted its ass.
