I havebeen running my introduction into the ground!, New info, and i tried to post pics but they were toooooo big! I have fixed all the issues with the car, windows, carb etc. It runs great (to have a 330 in it) I have a 425 A block, just got correct steel crank and rods, getting ready to get a set of Edelbrock heads and Edel intake, got lots of small parts ordered, emblems, mirrors, sunvisors, bumper rubbers, etc. Ordered 3" magnaflow exhaust, got a custom shop doing true leather interior, BOSS 18" wheels will be here tomorrow, and I am super stoked! Thanks again for all your help!

What kind of exhaust do you have now? Let me know how that Magnaflow sounds after you get it hooked up — to the 425 I presume?
I have a Flowmaster system on my vert and it is just too loud for me (yeah, don't say it, I've heard it before) and had a Magnaflow recommended to me by one of my club members and I'd like to know how they sound and how much softer the sound is.

Mike, what series Flowmasters? I'm not sure, if the series is stamped on the mufflers I can check, but it was on the car when I bought it. But I can say it's the "Loud as Sh*t" series, it's just way too loud for my tastes. Besides it drives my neighbors nuts, one I don't care about, but the other folks I'd like to stay on good terms with. Plus I like a nice rumble, not an ear piercing blast out the pipes on my rides.

I cant speak for the Olds Flowmaster sound except for the fact my 330 currently has flowmasters. I can say that all the foxbody mustangs I ever built sounded really nice with Flowmasters except for the fact of the horrible loud interior noise and "Drone" Ya know the sound in the inside that you have some kids subwoofer stuck making some horribe deep sound inside the car. I did some research on this and its because Flowmaster has the semi V type walls welded in their exhaust, it causes the sound/flow to bounce around from front to back of the muffler, hence causing the sound to bounce around causing that horrible "drone" sound from front to back (of the car inside and out front to back) that actually hurts HP also. I had a 347 stroked car with dual chamber flowmasters that dyno'd 437 RWHP, the dynoguy I was using suggested a true flow through muffler suck a certain dynomax or magnaflow, I wanted to drop interior noise so i took his advice, I bought the bolt together Magnaflow kit, put it on myself and it fit great, cranked the car up and was amazed at how quiet it was in the inside, i almost was worried it was to quiet, when walking to the back of the car at idle, it was slightly quieter than the flows but not much, to me personally it had a much better sound, at wide open throttle it was actually louder than flows, but still very quiet in the car. Now on the dyno it made 455 RWHP a gain of 18 hp, keep in mind i was running 16 lbs of boost, but all in all i felt the car was 100% better inside, sounded better outside and gained HP

Big Mike, I have a set of flowmater "50" series with Walt's pipes on my vert and "in my opinion" in sounds like my original 65 442 right from the factory. I'm like you in that when I got the car it had a set of cherry bombs on it, and it was loud, too loud for me. Heck you could hardly talk inside the car at highway speeds. Now it has a nice "in my opinion" deep rumble out the back only, very little noise inside even with the top up and the windows closed. With the top down you can hear the sound out the back and it makes a great idle sound. My racing days are over so I really don't know about the horse power loss or gain. probably not the best for someone who wants to rattle the windows or feel as if your sitting on the muffler but for me it works great, I like it. Gary ;D

The drone is not a muffler caused sound, its a Ford small block trait. I had a 289 in a Fairlane and it did it off idle. With shitty no name mufflers.
