I am putting a new upper ball joint on and there is a gap between the ball joint and upper control arm so I e-mail them and
if you are meaning between the OD of the ball joint housing vs the ID of the hole in the upper control arm, keep in mind, on the uppers it is the four bolt flange that centers the ball joint in the arm - unlike the press fit of the lowers into their arm. A space or gap between the ball joint housing and the control arm is not going to cause any issues on an upper arm.
Is this right? Thanks Mike

From memory. I just drilled out the four rivets in the original ball joint And bolted in the new ball joint. The bolts are sized for the holes so little movement.

might be possible that the powder coating has built up around the hole and need cleaned up.

Went out there last night and looked at the hole size of the control arm and at the outside of the rubber and there is no way its going to fit well these ball joints are going back. Thanks

For what it's worth, the replacement ball joints I used, albeit 20 years ago, installed with no gap between the face of the joint and the control arm.

Probably the part number, or the wrong part in the wrong box. Like the other guys have said, they should drop into place with very little if any force. Unlike the the lowers with a press fit.

Right like you said wrong part in the box. I have talked to them and sent pictures and measurements and then they agreed they had the wrong part in the box, boy they thought I was wrong oh well they are sending new boots at this time. Thanks
