Not all 442's were the M14 heavy duty
1965 442 Heavy Duty M-14 3 Speed Introduced February 5, 1965
and then it was an option at that

I looked it up and only the 442 received the HD 3 speed option. The HD and regular three speed cost the same. I am guessing one had to choose when ordering a 442 with a 3 speed.
So.... one could get a column shift 3 speed, a floor shift 3 speed and after Feb 5th, a choice of column/Saginaw floor shift/HD dearborn floor shift.
We need some three speed guys, if there are any, to give us some pics and info on their odd ball cars. How many are left of the 690 that Olds built?

I looked it up and only the 442 received the HD 3 speed option. AAANNNGGGHHH! Nope, the police apprehenders got the HD 3-sp option as well. That 690 number was only the number of 442's with that option.

Back before the HD floor shift Dearborn trans was released.

this might be an old thread, but that is the correct boot for a 442 with a 4 speed w/o console for 65. i have my original one which is about ripped in half, and a brand new nos one i bought, and i will not disclose what i paid for it becuase im crazy.
