Is is safe to say this board has been a flop so far? " ABSOLUTELY FRIGGIN' NOT! Well it was until I joined to steer things up. I really think the problem is there just isn't many 1965 f-85 or 442 out there . ( I DON"T AGREE..... I'VE OWNED AND PARTED OUT OVER 25 OF THEM AND THEIR ARE A LOT OF GUYS THAT MAKE ME LOOK LIKE A ROOKIE, NOT TO MENTION THE 250 PLUS THAT ALL OWN 65 442'S ON MY MAILING LIST AND GROWING EVERYDAY, I'D SAY THER ARE A LOT MORE THAN MOST PEOPLE REALIZE ) You know they are rare and you just never see to many of them. Also when Bro e-mailed me and I was blocked from his site ( I DON'T EVEN KNOW HOW TO BLOCK ANYONE AND WHY WOULD I? ) I tried to search for the forum with the term "65 f-85 forum". I don't think to many people who are searching the web for 65 related stuff are going to use the term "ultra-Hi-compression". when I search "1965 442 forum" Bro's site shows up on about page 4 but you are nowhere to be found. I'm not sure how this site is set up but you might need to improve the search data so that people will find it. I might also suggest you E-mail every one you find on the other forums who have 65's about it. I think getting the word out is all that is needed to give it a boost.

Bro 250 is a very small number compared to other cars out there and in comparsion and general terms there isn't too many of us. Being blocked has nothing to do with you or your site. It's corporate america my friend. I'm just trying to help.

"Dead" or not, doesn't matter. This forum is the only '65 442 forum in existence, and was started by the best websites for '65 442 information and restoration. I treat Ultra High Compression and 442BRO as two books of knowledge about a car considered by me to be at the very top. These "books" are valuable tools. And a forum that exists, ran by these guys, is great!

It's like a fine wine...... just needs some time.
I'd hate to see anything happen as this site is a wealth of information for 64 and 65 owners. Unfortunately the volume is on 68-72's. Also, with economic times, I suspect many have curbed their progress.

That's it !! I'm outta here, I tried to get along with you 65 guy's but your all just too..........just kidding I too visit the board almost everyday to see what's up. I myself have been working underneath my 66. Scraping and fixing and so on. Sold a few hubcaps thanks to this board the other day. Got to meet Brian and talked shop for awhile. I like this place and I don't really need the other forums to ask a question. Plus, the other forums are kinda confusing compared to the simplicity of this one.

Chin up Ramz! I dont think its a failure...a little quieter than some forums but we are vehicle specific...Its also fall...but if you feel its a failure, what would you say is missing? There are a lot of people watching from the sidelines also I would think. Dont know how busy the other site is (442.com) but other than the ads I dont think its that busy...

This forum has been a wealth of knowledge for most, if not all of us. We are a small segment and can't expect to see the numbers that the 'belly button' Camaros and Mustangs generate. And being year specific really narrows it down. So, I think as a small group we may see quiet times. I will post pics of my basket case 442 vert next week and would appreciate any input or advice you guys may have. Thanks.

I look everyday multiple times, It will be ok. I just spent two days putting shocks and brakes on the Hi top, too nice a day to not get it ready for winter. Too old for that working in the snow crap, and the bitch won't fit in the garage so, I have to work on it while it's nice.

I agree that being a small group is a good thing. Periods of inactivity is certainly no reason for alarm. What makes this forum successful is the quality of it's membership, not the quantity. Now speaking of getting questions answered: Is there any differences beween a cutlass vert frame and a 442 vert frame?

Now speaking of getting questions answered: Is there any differences beween a cutlass vert frame and a 442 vert frame? I can answer that for you. Well to the best of my ability that is, with Oldsmobile their is no telling what might have come with your car. The convertible frame from what I have seen is the same, so is the 65 convertible GS frame, but not the 65 Chevelle frame. Take the number off your frame just to make sure, the only thing you might have to put on from your frame is the gussits around the engine cross member.

I check the forum everyday. I have 4 - 65's at the moment and just put a deposit on a Vista. I am really just getting back into these cars so the information here is very valuable. The core group of guys really help the rest of us. These car are not your run of the mill high production cars so I don't think we wiull ever have the huge numbers that other forums have. The knowledge and sharing on this forum really helps me enjoy the 65 expierence, where else can you find this stuff. I'll be posting more as we head into the winter and from the responses so far it looks like there are many folks checking the forum every day.

Well I think am one of those one from the side lines. I visit this site about every day even if I do not log on, I do it just to see if there is something new, but I can tell ya I would be lost on my restoring of my car if wasn't for this site and the people on it.
THANKS
