I have new wiring thoughout the car from M & H and have their internal regulator updrade built in...The alternator light is on dim all the time...I remember way way back(30yrs) I had this issue on a previous 65 when I went to the internal regulator...dont recall how I solved it anymore...called their tech line which was no help...anyone?

I"ll check my wiring schematic when I get back to the house. From memory, the light gets 12 volts from dash power and gets ground from the diode bridge in the alternator.

mine use to and i fixed it, just don't remember how. (don't laugh, you'll get here too) try running a jumper from the back of the dash panel to a solid ground, for the hell of it. do you have you body ground clean and tight?

Not sure if this would be of any help, but here's a harness conversion to use the internal reg alt.
Maybe the harness is set up similarly?

body ground it must have been cause I cleaned and redid my grounds...light is out...cant believe how many problems a bad ground can cause...thanks again !
