Was never happy with the color of the motor, wanted to finish some of the upgrades so pulled it out the other day and changed it a bit! Pretty happy so far. The BEFORE THE AFTER Added a melling high volume oil pump, Milodon 7 qt low profile oil pan, modified all of the oil returns, cut the center divider in the intake, adjusted the valve pre-load. New pro-form pulleys, found the valve covers on e-bay, R&M wire loom, stant oil tube breather, new fuel pump with braided line and ceramic coated the headers. Tore the engine down for inspection, new head gaskets etc., everything look good and wearing fine. Also, put a new aluminum pan on the TH350 and fixed a few leaky issues while the engine was out as well as cleaned up the engine bay. Pretty happy with the way it's turning out.

BTW did you have issues with the bump on the intake in front of the bolt for the upper mount for the alternator? I was wondering if my upper alt mount was tweaked or if that bump on the performer intake was the issue. Also I really dig those valve covers

The motor looks great. What kind of spark plug wire holders are those? How are they secured? I would love to have such a clean motor, but one can only dream.

They bolt to the valve cover bolts, need 2" studs but really like they way they clean that section up. The ones I used are powder coated red which fits well. They have other colors including chrome.

fired right off today, headed to the Midwest to visit family but will post updated pix when I get back. Always a bitch to do everything by yourself but squeezing this in with headers and a larger oil pan tested as much as I want. Made it easier by leaving the headers attached but getting the flywheel into the tranny while clearing the larger oil pan was a real test. Anyway, was good to hear it running again, lowered the compression a little and took the advance out of the timing gear setup. Didn't get a chance to fine tune but think I'm going to like where I put it this time.

New air cleaner, alternater pulleys, etc added. Runs much better now that I took the compression down a little and took some advance out of the timing. May have to go to a 2.5" element versus the 3" in there now as hood clearance will be very close.

damn nice, what are those headers? and do they fit? Headers are Hooker full length competition. They do fit but really tight and a little mod required. Need to grind down the passenger A Arm slightly or it will hit. Also, can get them in with the motor in place but need to remove the oil filter base and pivot the engine from side to side while installing. The easiest way to install is with the motor out though. Simply hook them up and drop the motor in around them. Coated them with VHT silver ceramic high heat paint. Thanks Andy, I'm finally happy with the look.
