When I was a kid in hi-school, (ancient history 101)I had a '61 olds Dynamic 88 4-dr.... my friends made fun of it cuz it was UGLY, but man, was it fast! Not quick, but FAST. Bury-the-speedo fast. A friend and I were cruisin' the north hill of Pendleton one day, after watching Bullitt, and there we were, goin' up a nice, steep hill, with these flat intersections. We looked at each other, grinned, and I PUNCHED IT! The car would nearly leave the ground at each one... Well, I'd never been up that street before, and didn't realize that after about the 3rd street, it simply went DOWN! The big ol' barge got SERIOUS air. Time stopped. We looked at each other. The engine raced. I looked down. WAY down. The car arched gracefully through the air, and hit. HARD. Front bumper/wheels first, flattened out with an incredible crash, and bounced. Twice. I looked ahead. We were still moving at least 30mph. There was a stop sign. I stood on the brakes, and skidded right up to the line. We sat there, engine still running. I looked in the mirror, and there was a '61 Olds-shaped mass of dirt, nuts and bolts, and miscellaneous crap back where we touched down. A cop drives through the intersection, oblivious. People were coming out of the houses looking for the wreck. Shaking like a leaf, We drove away. What a car!

Back then, too bad you didn't have a video camera on you - you could have sent it in to America's Funniest Videos to win a pot full of money! By the way, your story doesn't help build up a lot of faith in the vigilance of our police forces, does it.

Went air borne over a set a R/R tracks in a "Rambler" yes a flat six three on the tree ...... it hit so hard the engine stalled ..... had to jump out and push it to catch it in gear to get it running again....... Oh ya I do seem to remember red lights behind us at the time. Gary

I used to do that in high school. Just thinking back now, I remember having at least 4 different cars in high school. On of them was a vw beetle. Not far from the school there was a road we called Milo Hill. I used to charge guys 50 cents a ride to go over the top of the hill. Needless to say there was always air under the wheels after we went over the top. One time I took the hill so hard that one of the guys bit his lip bloody after we touched down!!! Great times.........
