Has anybody notice that there is 2 different size bolt and washer for the the ( crankshaft ) damper . Does that mean they made 2 different style dampers for our cars

tp, i`ve been watching your post since you posted, thought sure someone would have replied. I have never noticed a difference in bolt size, or difference in dampers, could be but I really doubt it. As far as I know 400 425 same. Is it an actual difference in the thread size in the crank, or are you talking a different hex size on the bolt head itself ?

yes the very early 425s had a 1/2 bolt and and then Olds went to a 3/4 in bolt. So Id imagine the 400s were the same way (same crank)

Thanks-you just have to yell to get heard! Are the dampers the same other than the bolt hole? ---bil
