Those pictures are AWESOME! the 442s, that '65 Gran Sport, and the '64 GTO are all on my personal "top 5" list of greatest cars of all time! Very cool to see them racing with each other. Thanks for posting!

Good post. These historical photos are second to none. This is the real deal...they reek of purity, of old cars the way they did look. That's the way they should look. If I was daring enough to modify a car as rare, unique and original as a '65 442, I would only allow the cool appearance found in those photos, especially the first car. To me, that is correct to the time, original and proper in it's own right.

Crap, I haven't said enough...those are excellent historical pictures. Thanks so much for posting them. I would love to make a book that contains these kinds of pictures. Where did you find them? Is it OK if I copy and print them for my own personal car scrapbook?

Do what you want with them. A guy posting a bunch of drag racing pics on another board posted them. I stole them from there. So go ahead and steal them from here. ;D

Check out the three dealer sponsored cars, the window stickers are still attached to the quarter windows. I wonder if they were racing unsold cars for advertising.

Did you get the pictures of the pictures?
The one above looks like it has N98 wheels on the front.

Would it not be great if the pro's drag racing today would take a step back and start using the body styles of the '60s and '70s. At least you would be able tell what is going down the track. Even Nascar could use some distinction between the cars. I'd just love to see a '65 442 racin against a '72 Vega Gt with each one having the engines of today in them...no that would be racing. Best racing I ever had was nailing my '65 442 coming out of the front gate at the navy base in 1971 and showing the '66 GTO what a stock 400 inch motor could do "OH YEAH" high octane gas from the pump and a gate guard giving the "hit it" hand salute...now those were the days.

Anyone know the front wheels on this GTO. They kinda look like slots like American Racing sells. These ones look like chrome steel. Anyone?
