Another post that has been up for a while, but that's not a bad price on that carb and intake if someone is looking for one. I assume it's a 4GC. Might be worth a try. madison.craigslist.org/pts/2145155768.html

Postcar picked it all up today. It's one of those funky blocks that Bro has it has the extra three's on it. Guy told him that was a special HP 425 that put out 375HP. Who knows?? There gone anyways.

Too funny. I look at Bros page, see a tilt F85 column. Look for the $2950 engine, refresh the page, and the column sold. I hate old people with computer skills.
I guess I could have told him that 65 Chevelle tilt column routinely hits $900 on eGay...
Just one of the A body rarities where a floor shift column is worth less than a column shift.

Posted for Dave Cause His computer is crapping out.
Spent a few hours on the phone with people I trust know olds engines. Couple different opinions, first all agree RARE 425 HC engine, all agree from a 65 Jetstar 1, 370 hp. (not to be confused with a jetstar 88 or any other 88/98) Could come in either a 4 speed or auto, all had duel exaust, big carbs, 470 ft lbs torque, 10.5 compression instead of the 10.25 compression we know of, here is where the difference in opinion comes in. Some say the compression difference comes from what is refered to as the "third type piston" (I never heard that term before) The pad below #1 cylinder is a modification pad, for mods that were made to the block/heads, The drill spots designate, 1 drill spot Jetstar 1, two drill spots, F-85 3427. This engine does have the larger secondary's like the 442 carb, it is a 45 degree lifter bore, with .841 lifters, it has the standard 4.125 bore. I`m told these were 400hp easy
