Has anyone seen this marking on a transmission before? Does anyone know what it means? It is an automatic and I think it says 300 " 5.P.B. +

We took my transmission to get it rebuilt on Wednesday. The owner of the shop said that the markings were probably from a shop that had previously rebuilt it. The 5.P. is actually a S.P. is what he said and it stood for "switch pitch" or variable pitch which is refering to the torque converter. From what I read on www.442.com/oldsfaq/oftrn.htm#Transmissions it allows greater multiplication of torque by redirecting more oil to the impeller.
