How much should I expect to spend for an exhaust system from Walt Vallelunga?

Thanks for the info as you can see one of the previous owners thought it was cool to put on headers and glasspacks. It sounded cool with the holes in the headers because they hung so low.

I tried his e-mail and it didn't work...
it was undeliverable to the following:
WaltVallelunga@sbcglobal.net <WaltVallelunga@sbcglobal.net>... Addressee unknown,
does anyone have his current address?
Also, does anyone know if he offers these in a 3" size?

I just got in the exhaust pipes from Walt and they look great. Does anyone know if stock mufflers are available from any reproduction manufactuer? I guess I could always put on an unmarked muffler on the exhaust that sounds like the original mufflers.

I know Walt makes excellent tail pipes as good as the orginals. I decided to replace the entire exhaust system so I went with Gardner Exhaust out of NY. The make a concurs quality exhaust front to back, all pipes head and the tail pipes are chambered like the originals, mufflers, clamps, hangers, screws, everything needed for a complete job. I chose to go with a complete matched system. It was pricey at $850 but its as close as you can get to original. Check out their web site www.gardnerexhaust.com/homepage.html

I also picked up a Gardner Exhaust set...tail pipes looked great...I have not installed it yet for fit but I did notice that the chambered pipes were not crimped as much as the originals and walts.

"We only sell complete systems", was their reply. I explained that I run headers and don't need the complete system, only the tail pipes. "We sell only complete sets" My question was, WHY? To which their only answer was........"We sell only complete sets". I still don't get it. If you're in business to sell pipes, why would you refuse to make $350 or $400 a set. I needed 3 sets at the time. So I've added them to my A-Hole list along with RamZ's In Line Tube.

I have not installed mine as of yet. Probably another two months until I get to it. I'll let you know how it goes.

What is the size of a stock muffler? 5" Thick x 10" Wide x 13" Long? I just want to make sure everything fits when I bolt it up to the pipes Walt made.

When I spoke with Walt 2 years ago he recommended Dynomax SS mufflers made by Walker. He said they sounded awesome with a nice mellow tome, look like originals, life time warranty for about $126 each. The head pipes were $150 so when I added it up it was $800 plus shipping without hangers and clamps. So I decided to go with Gardner for $850, they supplied a complete set with bolts, ceramic coated collar flanges, washers, zinc plated hangers, screws, clamps, diagrams and instructions. I just felt I would go front to back with a complete matched set.
You can contact Walt at waltvallelunga@yahoo.com or 586-739-8255.
